What Pop/Rock Stars Do In Their Spare Time

Sign in to disble this ad
Last night I was watching a show on DYI Network starring Vanilla Ice. He has a home renovation business in Florida. He buys nice houses that have been neglected, renovates them and flips them. He really seemed to know his stuff too!

Today I read an article on Yahoo about Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. He has been a pilot for 20 years and regularly flies Boeing 757 charter jets for an airline in the UK! I think it is great that these guys go out and do something different instead of just milking their fame from being recording artists.

Anyone else know of other musicians that have interesting side jobs?

Quite a few musicians are actors.

Many musicians are also record producers or own record companies.

Alice Cooper, Tom Petty, Ted Nugent, and Steve Van Zandt all are radio D.J.s with syndicated shows.

Ted Nugent also has a TV hunting show and owns and operates a hunting camp.

Billy Gibbons customizes cars.

Dave Mason co-founded and co-owns RKS Guitar Company.

That's impressive! I thought Tom Scholz from Boston was the only highly intelligent rock guitarist.

Neil Peart is an accomplished author with several books to his name. Me, it's a good day when I can write an intelligent sentence!

So does Kurt Ballou. Those two are easily some of my favorite producers. And of course both of them are amazing musicians as well!
