What shipping company do you like/hate. Let out some steam!!!

I've come to conclude that I hate shipping through UPS. If I could have my pick, it would be FedEx for large stuff and USPS Priority for smaller ones. The other day I shipped a set of tuners to a guy in Milwaukee (4 hours away) and it cost me $10. I shipped another set to a guy in CA through Priority and it cost me $7. Unbelieveable!!! Shipping guitars through UPS is like $30+. I just shipped a bass to a guy in FL through FedEx and it cost me $23 which includes $1500 insurance. Why the price difference?

Speed of delivery is faster with FedEx and Priority anyway in my experience.

I manage a distribution warehouse and I think they all leave a lot to be desired. Fedex would be the best of them all but they have lots of problems.

Always get the insurance, it is worth it when something is lost or damaged.

USPS "delivered" a package to the wrong mailbox the other day, and since it had Amazon printed all over it, whoever found it in their mailbox did the wrong thing and scored a free DVD. Never did hear back from them about what they intended to do to fix it, but Amazon stepped up and sent me another copy, this time by UPS.

Every single one of them has horror stories out there. IMHO, it's a crapshoot. Ship your package, roll the dice and pray you don't shoot a 7.
