My friend wants some beginner bongo's for Christmas, and I don't know anything about bongo's at all. What is a good brand or model to look for?

I know less about entry level, but Latin Percussion has a low-end line that are pretty good.

Be sure to pick a set with heavy-duty hardware, not the cheap flimsy stamped metal. Also be sure the hardware has tightening nuts on the bottom, rather than drum-key screws on the top rim (those hurt your hands). |
