Talking What are some good sources listen to music online...

Hey all--
I just got turned on to Janek Gwizdala's podcast and wondered if there were places online to check out more music like his. I don't really have access to download the music etc. but my workplace allows us to listen to online streaming.

I am wondering if you all have some favorite sites that stream music. Specifically I am looking for sites/stations that play stuff by Janek Gwizdala, Matt Garrison, or similar bassists/musicians.

Thanks in advance.
Tom

I'm a fan of Pandora. You can create your own station (or multiple stations) and enter the bands/artists you like. The station will randomly play your chosen bands/artists, and ones that are similar to your selections. I've come across a lot of stuff I never would have found otherwise.

Pandora is great. You plug in the name of an artist or song and it finds similar music automatically for you. Then you give feedback on the stuff it plays and it adjusts accordingly. They call it the 'music genome' project. I've found some great stuff on there that I probably would never have heard anywhere else.

It's free, and there's even an iPhone app.

I'm also a huge fan of Pandora....the music genome thing is simply uncanny. You build "channels" kinda like Sirius only your own favorites and then it "suggests" other artists that, if you like what you say you like, you should probably like them. THe choices are not always spot-on, but the successes far outnumber the misses IME.

You'll miss more when your channel definition is all over the road. Try to define a specific favorite genre of music as opposed to Bach, RHCP, Beatles and GWAR all mixed in one channel.
