Love that song. The whole album is good, particularly "Operation Spirit" and "The Beauty of Gray".

We covered:
"It's Alright For You" - The Police
"Wouldn't It Be Good" - Nick Kershaw
"Mexican Radio" - Wall of Voodoo
"Jerkin' Back 'N Forth" - Devo

Not often but I've seen Still Got The Blues. We sometimes do Midnight Blues off of that same album.

We Also Do:
"Smackwater Jack" and "Son of a Preacher Man" and the Stones "Monkey Man" and "Love In Vain"

Good album. Their best IMO. My favorite song from it might be "Good Pain", which my guitar player and I have covered for an acoustic gig.

I'm sure there are other bands that cover these songs, but here are a few that we've done and which I've never seen another local band do:

"Hand Clapping Song" - The Meters
"E-Pro" - Beck
"Lover You Should've Come Over" and "Grace" - Jeff Buckley
"Drugs" - Talking Heads
"Down In The Valley Woe" and "I'm So Gone" - Jackie Greene
"King For a Day" - Faith No More

Never Been Any Reason, I've seen two bands do it, one does an amazing job with it.

Good call on the Live tune, we've toyed with it in two configurations for 15+ years now and just don't want to sound like poo.

For our regional coverage 90% of what we play is not played by other bands. A certain regional band catches wind and picks up some of the obscure songs we're doing - it's comical really

My song that no one else plays...

Grand Funk Railroad - Flight of the Pheonix > Footstompin' Music. Has 'em outta their seats about 2 seconds after we hit the first verse.

It gets requested at every gig...or the obligatory "PLAY SOME SKYNYRD"!!!
...which we did: "Sweet Home Alabama" done with a Disco-fied feel over the choruses. Glad the guy had a sense of humor.

Once upon a time, I played in a band that opened with "No Egos Underwater" by the Aquarium Rescue Unit (the original version with Col. Bruce...not the more recent remake).
I played more notes on that tune than I do on an entire gig with the New Country band I'm also in...

Where are you from? Somewhere in the Midwest US? I grew there listening to these guys, but when I moved to the east coast no one has ever heard of them.

I loved that song as a kid, especially the live version.

GREAT Pull. Another band I'd missed entirely and was (gratefully) made aware of in the past year. Besides, "Col. Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit"...great name!
