what are those bits of bootlace for...?

Sign in to disble this ad
you know the ones I mean..! The bits of bootlace you see threaded through the button hole when you buy a new strap...

I always take them off because I never know what they're supposed to be for... and i've never EVER seen anyone play a guitar or bass with a bit of string dangling from the end of the strap...

any ideas?

It gets tied around the headstock/ neck joint. You'll occasionally see pictures of people with Hofners playing them that way.
