What is up with Rondo Music?

They haven't had a new bass in 6 months and it seems as though their selection is gradually dwindling away. I've heard from Kurt that they are supposed to get some stuff this fall/winter but it seems weird how their selection is decreasing. Is this normal for them?

I wouldn't worry. Winter season instruments will come sooner than you think. I don't really know what you mean by selection is decreasing. I guess I haven't noticed.

Happens every year. Kurt orders them by the truckload, and probably won't order any more until he sells some of what's left. What are you waiting for?

I'd love to see at 32" P but I'm not holding my breath.

:: cough :: 5-string P-bass with a visually tolerable headstock that doesn't look like a 1950's summer camp canoe paddle :: cough ::

I would be very happy with the old fish hook head stock. Oozed mojo!

I don't buy that it is Normal. He seems to be able to stock 5x as many guitars. The bass availability has gone to crap over the last few years.

It's ok. To me, they're obsolete. Several better options out there now these days.

Selection has definitely decreased, which I assume just means he's sold out of the last shipment. Hopefully interesting new things will show up soon. You can't get an SX five-string of any description currently, and the Ursa 2 jazz is doing a Henry Ford - you can have any color you like as long as it's black. No rosewood fretboards on any of the better SX's, they're all maple now. Etc.

My wish-upon-a-star would be a Brice Defiant in a 4-string, 35" scale, either the bloodburst or lizardburst finish. Of course then I'd have to scrape up the cash to actually buy it.

I think he should do more Brice basses. They are very nice. The other stuff is the same old ****, but the Brices could get Rondo more attention. There should be a couple of quality Brice short scales.

+1 I love my Brice 5string Fretlesss. I bought it late last winter. I wanted to get it in the black finish, but it wasnt available for a few months. I didnt want to wait, so I opted for Natural Spalted Maple. I was happy with the compromise.
