The company my friend works for has asked me to do some audio engineering work for them. They have audio files with 90-minutes presentations that they want broken down to 10-12 minute clips, with musical bumpers (that they provide) at the end of each clip. They provide me with the details of where they want the cuts. The work isn't difficult (I'm using Adobe Audition), but it is tedious. I have a very picky ear, so the end result is very high quality. The problem is, I have no idea what I should charge for this service. Should I charge an hourly rate, or charge a flat rate for each clip? Has anybody done any contract work like this?
Any suggestions would be helpful. I want to make the most of this opportunity, and I also want to be the go-to guy in the future for this company. |
