What is wrong with my hand?

Sign in to disble this ad
To start off, I'm 16 and I have type 1 diabetes.

In my right hand (plucking hand), I have had bad pain for the last 4 days on my knuckles, and the area below the knuckles on my ring and pinky finger. The pain hurts on both the top and palm of my hand. The pain goes up into my forearm as well.

When I play bass, type, or fold my hand it hurts the most.

What is wrong with me?

That's what I was planning. I'm just making sure it's not a minor stretch, or if it just sore from lots of playing this past week. More than normal.

I've shown this to a couple of Doctors..One said just leave it be, another said he could "try" a shot in it..but he might hit a nerve and really screw it up!

hmmm.

I wonder what this could be. I'll go to the doctor and see if I can find out anything and report back.

It has gotten better the last few months (normal sugar)
I also switched to lighter stings...seemed to help a lot.

My sugars have been slighty above normal. My doctor's goal is 120 for me, and it's been at about 200.

That's about where mine usually run too.
What is strange..those are the 2 fingers I use the 'LEAST" out of all 10!
Use them for dampening strings...
Very Weird.
I thought it might have been from slingin' a hammer or something like that...Don't know.
But I know exactly what you are talking about!

Here's something else weird. I use those two fingers for the exact same thing

The OTHER weird thing is that I've recently bought a drum kit and I've been playing a lot lately. Drumming is sorta the same motion as slinging a hammer and the pain has happened after I've been playing these drums.

weird.....

None of the Doctors can really nail it down for me..I'd definately see a doctor for it.. If you find out anything please let me know.
I have an appointment this month..I'm gonna push a little harder to find out what it is!

True that! How long have you been having the pain? Let's hope it doesn't spread.
