Hey MarkMgibson...what is the season down that way right now? Aren't you just coming out of Summer?
We have 3 big persimmon trees. You gotta pick those at just the right time or the fruit
is bitter. Usually around early November is when we get a couple of thousand ripe persimmons. There are so many we can't figure out what to do with them all but the critters and dogs love them. |
It's late summer here, but it's been a strange season. No rain at all early in the summer, and recently it hasn't stopped raining. I'm no expert in horticulture, but the fruit trees have ripened a lot later that usual. Still plenty of mangos on the trees, and those things are like gold. I trade them to neighbours for all sorts of good produce.
I'm thinking of netting the trees next year to keep the critters away.
