Question What is your favorite bass stand?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a new bass and can't find a stand like my other one Most people don't care about this stuff too much but what is your favorite stand? Links please.

The one I have and love for my 5 string looks a lot like this stand here but it has a piece coming right out of the top that can be adjust in height that supports the neck and the base is not going any where.. super solid... would love to find another one.

I do also love string swings for wall mounting... very, very nice!!! and quite the space saver!

The stand I use I, oddly, found in the garbage! I was walking home one night like, hey! that looks like a stand . . .

I can't find another one like it - keep the bass upright (I hate when it's too much on an angle) and firm and is relatively small (A-frame)

here is the only pic I could find of it - if I break the Sunday laziness I'll go down to my car and snap another . . .

Best stand I've found for my Bass...

Ultimate Support Genisis 100

Great stand, holds any size/shape, more upright angle, smallish footprint, folds small, not expensive

Either these or Hercules are the best, IMHO.

This is the one I use:
Hercules Guitar Stand GS405B

I like the sturdiness and ease of breakdown of this model.

+1 on the Ultimate Support Genesis 100.
If you are going portable, it's the one to use. Folds up small and it's lightweight.

If portability is not an issue, the Hurcules GS414 B A/G is a lot of stand for the money. It's solid and very adjustable to basses, even offset bodies like a Jazz.

Ultimate GS100

The two stands in the photos below I have had for over 20 years now (and a third one at home)! Hence, have not bought a guitar stand in over 20 years! I think that says allot about them.

The Hercules stuff are great especially the multi-stands. I also have some proel stuff that looks like this http://images.marketplaceadvisor.cha...1/gus-06.3.jpg

I like this design better than the one past4lnch suggested since it is a little more stable and it can also support guitars.

I like the cheap ones. Mostly because it holds odd shaped instruments just fine. No nitro finishes, though.

Coolest and best stand I had was the bass hanger. It only worked on an ampeg 810 or 610 so I gave it away when I started using smaller cabs but that thing was beyond cool!

YES! The single guitar stand I take on gigs is an Ultimate.

When I need more than one bass on a stand, I take a Hercules 3-bass stand.

Both are excellent.

Ultimate Support GS-50. Tiny and sturdy like you wouldn't believe. I'm guessing I'd like th GS-55 just as much if not more. The only stands that ever leave my house.

I use the cheap On-Stage stand. I see no reason to use anything else really, it's just a stand. I like Hercules though, I used to have one for my trombone.

A stand, at least for me, holds a loved hobby, a valuable assest, and a worthwhile investment. After spending a few thousand on a bass I don't mind paying a bit more to ensure that they are safe and secure, be that in a gigbag or on a stand.

I use one of these. Holds 3 basses/guitars. They sit vertically so no stress on the neck and there is a "lock" so that the guitar can't fall out on it's own. Takes very little space too. For shows I keep my main bass plus a back-up for me and a back-up for one of our guitar players.

I also keep a set of these in my car - for acoustic and if I bring a second elec bass or guitar. They are not bad, small and very light. Very gig bag friendly (at least in the giant front pocket of my Mooridian )

+100. It is so much more steady and stable than the old style stand. I've seen so many guitars topple over on old stands. Mine has never taken a dive on that stand.
