'84 Squier Japan Precision Bass that I purchased a couple years back for $500 (shipped, IIRC) as a back-up bass.

Now, it's my main bass...even though I own others that are worth quite a bit more.

It's actually a guitar, a 2001 American Series HH hardtail Strat I bought new in 2005 for $750. It has Seymour Duncan humbuckers as original equipment, which split in positions 2 (one coil from each 'bucker) and 4 (neck only) on the five way switch. I prefer single coil Strats, but this is an incredibly versatile guitar that covers just about everything.

My MP3 bass trainer is my favorite eBay purchase. I can't bring myself to buy an (expensive) instrument without playing it first.

I love my Crest CA-6 from ebay. My ebay acquired ivory 1991 '51 RI is great and sacred,
but this little 1965 silvertone/dano bass is really my secret love, my "ebay rosebud" (dare I say that?) :

More info about it, if you need it: Review/Pics of 1965 Danelectro Silvertone Bass
