I like playing Mixolydian for the simple fact it sounds good and I also like the flatted seventh.

I voted phrygian. Not so much for the sound, but because Plato wanted to have that mode banned. He felt it exicted the young people into behavior of ill refute. So even in 300 BCE there were people try to ban and/or blame music.

(still....there is something about that b2 that does make me think of Helen..... oh yea)

+1. Can't go wrong in popular music with a major tonality and a flat 7th. IMO the most useful mode in rock, funk and blues.
