I grew up with the Beatles, and to this day they're my favorite band. While their cultural legacy is unmatched, that doesn't mean every song they recorded was a masterpiece. So even though we all have our favorites from their catalog (mine include I Saw Her Standing There, I Feel Fine, Rock And Roll Music, Rain, And Your Bird Can Sing, Hey Bulldog, Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey, and She Came In Through The Bathroom Window), I thought it might be interesting to talk about our least favorite Beatles tracks.
I'll start with mine, in descending order:
#10 Dig A Pony - "You can syndicate any boat you row"? - drugs are bad, kids
#9 Maxwell's Silver Hammer - forget Yoko, forget Brian's death, forget Allen Klein - endless run-throughs of this is why they broke up!
#8 Love Me Do - the fact that their first single charted gives you an idea of how desperate the world was for the Beatles to come and change it
#7 Mr. Moonlight - which among other things, proves that as an African drummer George makes a great guitarist
#6 The Long and Winding Road - give it up Paul, no matter how it's recorded it's still a bathetic dirge
#5 A Taste of Honey - "do doot-n-doo!" - to be fair, some of the dross on the first LP was George Martin and the boys just trying to cover all the bases
#4 Helter Skelter - trying too hard to put a layer of ugly on some pretty thin material
#3 Only A Northern Song - what you find when you look up "filler" in the dictionary
#2 You Like Me Too Much - "I like you, I really do" - the theme song for a 2nd grader's courtship
#1 Ask Me Why - "I, I, I, I" - aye yi yi!!
So what are your least favorite? Looking forward to seeing what you choose, as well as comments about your own selections and those of others.

| | LICENSED TO KILL - any song I play! | | | | | Yikes! My least favorite Beatles songs would probably be liked more than my most liked song by other bands, if that makes any sense.

| | LICENSED TO KILL - any song I play! | | | | | ...Also,
I'm 52 and grew up with 8-tracks and albums. I expect to hear songs in the order they were on the record. Now that I have the CDs I still listen to the whole thing, never skipping any tracks.
