Just wanted experiences or opinions of this online retailer. Recently I made two separate purchases from them and was quite pleased.

I go there before anywhere else when I can. Sweetwater is also superb, but a little too 'friendly' for my tastes.

I haven't bought anything from them yet but I really like the layout of their website, and it's easy to use.

I've had great experiences with them. Their customer service is awesome. I recently ordered a Casio Privia PX-130 keyboard. When I got it, the low C key sagged and didn't return up after it was pressed. After a quick call they sent me a new one and in a few days I had my new keyboard. Their very efficient in my opinion too

They are one of the largest and most successful online music-gear franchises in the world, ever. That comes with both good and bad aspects. I buy from them a couple times a year, and never a disappointment or problem; but I prefer to support smaller businesses, or buy used.

Same here, but when I can't I've used MF on several occasions (placed an order yesterday in fact), and have never had anything but prompt, accurate, hassle free service from them.

Musician's Friend killed my grandma!

Not really. I've had a few transactions with them and they've all been, as fhm555 said, hassle-free. I prefer perfectbass.com or local shops, but when neither have what I want in stock, I go through MF or Sweetwater.

I've probably dumped $6500 or so through them over the past 2 years. They made a couple of mistakes that ended up in my favor on an order and let me keep the extra items for my troubles rather than have me go through the return process. On another order, a customer service rep and manager conferenced called me to thank me for my order and verify the parts list (was a ton of individual items) to make sure they would get everything right. Seriously amazing customer service! I can't say enough good things about them!

They are pretty much the newegg of music, and they often have really killer sales on all kinds of cool stuff. I can't wait for the black friday madness!

I think they are pretty much the "standard" of what one would expect from an online retailer.

Huge selection. Not everything, but most of what most people are buying.
Average employee knowledge about their products. Neither experts or idiots.
Competitive prices. Cheap enough to piss off your local stores, not unbeatabe.
Not too friendly, nor too arrogant or unbendable customer service.
Shipping times are pretty quick, but not always the fastest.
They deal with a lot of orders, so mistakes do happen, but not often.

They're OK...

There is a better online mass merchandiser --- seriously I've had BEST serviced from Sam Ash...

------

Long story short... I was wanting to spend money (ready and willing)... called in and spoke with a PA only sales rep.... he asked what I was doing... put in the order... then asked permission to suspend it.

He told me to do some research on an other alternative and call back. He personally owned the mains I was going to buy and suggested an option that saved me $500

He then went through my entire signal chain and helped me simplify and improve it.

He made some notes on my "wish list" ... then called back with some scratch and dent stuff they had in stock.

When I had a tech question on my mains, they patched me into a conference call with the OEM engineers...

It was almost like the good old days of a corner store who cared.
