When will they learn that? |

Guy's trying too hard, IMHO.

Many of their best instrumental grooves and textures were copied from other bands, most notably from Earl Brutus (one of the best bands in the world almost no one's heard of). If Mr. Manson actually learned to sing and they got rid of the cheesy metal guitar sounds, I might like them.

| | | | Brian is a smart guy. I was suprised. His interview in "Bowling for Columbine" is the highlight of the movie. "Fear and consumption" One of the most insightful things ever said, actually. I am unfamiliar with his music, however. |

| | | | In my experience, Manson can be kind of hit and miss. I have the Mechanical Animals album, and I think it's absolutely great from beginning to end. I bought another album (can't remember the name) because I wanted the Sweet Dreams cover and that whole album is garbage. There might be one or two aside from the Sweet Dreams cover that are okay, but maybe not even that.
I guess I like Manson, and I understand the shock rock thing, but I like it more when he focuses on writing a good pop styled song rather than putting all of his effort into being abrasive and shocking. I'll take Dope Show over Cake and Sodomy any day. The bottom line is, I consider Marilyn Manson to be very talented even though I don't like ALL of the songs. |

Now, if his music/band was as relevant and interesting as, say, Tool, now that would be massive and timeless.
I also give him props for shaking things up a bit. |

I give credit for going on the O'Reilly Factor and handling himself very well as Bill tried to pick at him a little. He's very well spoken and seems educated, I even think O'Reilly was impressed with him in a round about way!! |

No I dont wear combat boots, I have listened to him since I was younger though. His early stuff was much better for the most part, but his newer stuff is amazing for the most part. I dont think theres a better album in his genre than antichrist superstar, soooooooo good. I just finished reading his autobiography. Super good read for anyone thats intersted. Yes he did market himself well and hes a hustler. He really got out there and made the best of what he had. I was sorry to hear that him and twiggy parted ways. He seems to be working more with trent as of late so hopefully his albums get better again. |

Some of his own work I'm not 100% on those. I like a few of his tunes, Some of them are just *** was that? So its really a hit or miss.
But props to him for doing what he does. He really shakes things up in the music biz. He really takes a good verbal beating now and then, but just keeps on going. |

Intelligent dude, quite well spoken. Unfairly overlooked as a dramatic, depressive grown teenage type. I like his views on religion. Daisy and Twiggy were the real talent of the band, Brian provided the LOOKATME theatrics. A good chunk of it is pretty brilliant.
Combine David Bowie with Ogre from Skinny Puppy and there you have him.
