I may be getting old, but there are way too many "genres" these days!

Do you know what we used to call Stoner Rock back in the day? Rock!

Now get off my lawn!

yep, Radio friendly and all things relative like Corp branding, pretty boy, or girl looks, pretentious attitude, blah, blah

PUNK has no rules and it's not about money, Stand up and question everything.. then write your own path

what "pop-punk" is, Is the Radio friendly, $$$ world trying to cash in on a movement...
but, with ZERO integrity and absolutely no clue, with all the trappings of shareholders & big Corp gloms

PUNK has nothing to do with that unless, It's created "In house"

that said, the reality is, it's all ROCK!! .. so go Rock Out with yer C##k out!!

I think the term "pop punk" refers to the "happy" lyrics, or melodies...

Although, a hardcore/punk band I played bass and "sang" with, was coined pop-punk for a while due to it's positive lyrics, more "happy" breakdowns, until the genre "easy-core" came out....and then we were easy-core. I think it refers to a more relaxed, easier to listen hardcore? Isn't it what hardcore was all about back in the day? Oh well...

People are ALWAYS going to make out genres....the last one I heard was pretty funny: "avant-folk"? Pfff what the hell is that...the medal dudes always come out with VERY specific genres....like nintendocore? They do loooove to put "core" at the end.

Oh well!
