What's the current overhyped TB piece of gear?
It seems like the Thunderfunk honeymoon has ended and has moved onto the Markbass LMII. |

500watts comfortably at 4ohms, small and portable package, easy to use, sounds good and only 599 new....rightfully hyped imo and ime.
to me bongos are overhyped. i cant get into their sound, MM playability in general isnt up my alley and i wont get started on how they look.

Seems that only the owners and a select few who actually want to buy one hype them.

In this case, the LM-II is popular among a lot of people for a lot of reasons, if you don't like it that's great. This certainly doesn't make it 'overhyped'. |

yeah people listen, this thread isn't meant to bash or demean any piece of gear or the people that use them. it's just simply the "gear fad" thread". If you've been on here longer than a month you realize that TB goes through phases where certain pieces of gear are really hyped and then everyone has them, then they appear by the dozens in the classifieds (member when all the Aggie DB750's were in there?) and then the cycle starts over with some new product.
I think the bass fad has finally moved from Sadowsky to Alleva-Coppolo. They seem like the new kid on the block now that everybody's gotta hang with. |

I have never seen a time when they have not been "hyped". To have that sort of run of "hype", leeds me to the conlcusion that they are not the gear that everyone is talking about at the moment - they are the piece of gear everyone talks about.

I have to admit that I found out about Sadowsky through TB but I did research before taking the drive to their shop and found that they have a really long (positive) history with quality. |
