I've been listening to a lot of dubstep these days. It's sort of an electronic-ized version of dub reggae. Some like to describe it as making dub reggae using drum 'n' bass tools (computer, sampler, looper etc).
The way the electronic scene works is really fascinating, too. You could become a legend without ever releasing an album, if you have some singles/EPs, tracks that get played in the right clubs and radio shows, and if you have a good live DJing rep...completely different way of appreciating music vs. rock, etc.
Also, I often find that the best way to get me motivated to play bass is to listen to stuff that doesn't have bass at all. If I listen to a single bassist too much--especially one that I want to play like--I start trying to cop their moves too closely without leaving room for myself to come up with original stuff.
