Live Dubstep Cover - CollegeHumor Video

Particularly, the bass player has some interesting stuff going on. Anyone know why the left hand is fretted? Is that a Zon? What is going on between the neck and bridge pickups? Is the glowing light on his thumb some kind of wireless accelerometer controlling some parameter on a synth?

Even if Dubstep isn't really your thing (I think it's really cool!) this video has some good musicianship, and interesting technology.
