I've been itching to try my hand at guitar recently. My room mate is a guitarist, but not too sharing when it comes to his gear (US G&L ASAT). I understand this completely, as i'm the same way.
My only real course of action was to buy my own "entry level" set up, if i wanted to progress at all.
Last year i bought an SX P/J bass that has been totally amazing (after a set up)! So, i thought, an SX guitar should be pretty sweet too!
Last Wednesday i was sitting at work and perusing Rondo's site... but for the first time... in the Guitar section! While i'm not super savvy when it comes to guitars, i do know that Jaguars and Jazzmasters are my favorite. So i got super excited when i saw that Rondo had a 2 p90 equiped 'dumbed down' version of a jazz master... and WITH the old head stock! So i ordered it then and there, last Tuesday, and i recieved it on Friday! Now, that left me with nothing to play out of (aside from bass amps/cabs).
So Saturday, i went to our awesome local used gear place and after talking with a friend that works there about what i was looking for (clean with good reverb and vibrato/tremolo) i picked up a 1970 Kustom 50 combo! So now, along with my already expansive bass pedal board... i can finally start fleshing out my shoegaze/dream-pop stuff!
I just thought it was cool, how stuff that worked for me with bass (my SX and my Kustom200) worked JUST as well with my new guitar set up!
Here are google images of the guitar and amp (my Kustom has black tuck n' roll, though)
