What's the name of this song?

In band practice yesterday, I semi-half-quasi-somewhat learned a new song.

But I don't know what it's called!

I tabbed the verse out for everyone's convenience... straight 8th notes all the way.
Code:
G[-------------------]
D[--------5----------]
A[----6-8---8--------]
E[--8---------5-6-7--]
I think the lyrics contained the phrase "...sneaking through the backyard..." something something.
The mic volume was too low :>

You might be thinking of "I Wish" by Stevie Wonder. It's non-stop 8th notes and includes the phrase "Sneaking out the back door, hang out with those hoodlum friends of mine...". But your tab isn't quite right. (My band usually plays that song as our set closer).

We use to do that tune. It always cracked me up when or 40 something Caucasian singer would sing the line about being a "Nappy headed little boy". Fun song to play though. I miss it.

Yes, that's it

Also, my band teacher showed me how to play it... would you mind terribly correcting it for me?

"I Wish" is a VERY popular tune to cover, and wicked fun to play. One of the most recognizable intro bass lines ever!
