Marilyn Manson is like a dude even though his name is like Marilyn which is like you know weird because he isn't chick but a dude. He must be confused or something. If you would like love him, that you know makes you like a gaydude you know, so like that could be really bad if your mom would find out and like then you would be like grounded or something.

I don't own any of his stuff, bu have heard a lot of it. Most see him as a no talent guy who grabbed on to the rebel/atheist/devil rock/non conformist schtick, and while he has marketed himself as that, he is a decent songwriter IMO.

I think his schtick overshadowed his songwriting. While all the church organizations were in an uproar over his stuff, I was laughing because it was so over the top and campy. It got him the exposure he was looking for. |

He's making lots of money and influencing kids to get into music. Listen to one time Manson guitar player John 5, he's awesome and has also played with David Lee Roth, KD Lang, Rob Halford, Paul Stanley and some movie soundtracks.

| | | | Manson does write some catchy tunes. I bought his Mechanical Animals album (a long time ago) and I thought it was awesome. Start to finish, a great album.
Then, a long time later, I heard only part of his cover of that Annie Lennex tune (sweat dreams) and I liked what I heard, so I went and found and bought that album. That album is completely un-listenable in my opinion.
His schtick is over the top and campy, some of the tunes are good - but it's hit and miss.
Also - Twiggy rocks... |

He suffered from panic attacks, and practicing guitar was what kept them in check.
It was in the November 2004 issue. |
