Whats your current music kick?

Sign in to disble this ad
I get on these kicks on which I only listen to a certain type of music or certain bands. Bands I've listened to before and even bands I really like, but I start listening only to them

Ones I've had recently:
Funk
Eminem
Z-Ro
Nirvana
Blues-Rock
and Rap-Core Rock (RHCP, RATM etc)

I'm currently on a 90's punk kick, namely Green Day and Blink 182.

Whats your current one?

PORCUPINE TREE!!!!

Lots and lots of Porcupine Tree. Right now I'm listening to "The Sky Moves Sideways" and it's just...

I adore this album, and I've yet to get to the end of it (I've only just bought it).

I have about a GB of various Jazz artists on my mp3 player: Ray Brown, Miles Davis, Coltrane, etc. Also, Stone Temple Pilots complete discography, and the second disc from the season 4 soundtrack of Battlestar Galactica. With the exception of the STP stuff, the rest makes for good listening while I read.

Just coming off a Jason Mraz and Lettuce kick . . . I'm currently kickless (and desperately in need of a fix!!) though new Sara Bareilles album is quickly becoming all I listen too and the new Maroon V album was a bit of a disappointment ...

I've been on a Tina Dico kick for well over a year now... I listen to a lot of stuff between, but almost always add some or all of her recordings to my playlists.

Tina for anyone who cares to listen:

The playlist I've been listening to more than not for the last 2 weeks is Tina mixed with:

Sevara Nazarkhan

Sia

and Medina

I just discovered Cedell Davis. He's a delta bluesman who plays slide, except that he uses a table knife instead.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for those sort of anecdotal tales, but its some seriously haunting music.

R&B, Motown style. Spinnin' Marvin Gaye and Mayer Hawthorne now (yes, he's neo-R&B style, but sounds great.)

Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
Siouxsie and the Banshees.
The Cure's first three albums.

I have sort of an eclectic taste.

My kicks change but I always stay true to funk, reggae and trance. Past kicks were different kinds of metal (ranging from Heavy to Technical Brutal Death ), hiphop, pop and blues.
