When you have to walk with your bass and it's raining

Today is my first bass lesson with a private teacher. I don't have a driver's license (I will) and I gotta walk 5-6 blocks to take the bus. And it's pretty humid, and it might rain.

I use a RoadRunner bass bag

Will the humidity completely warp and destroy and utterly obliterate my bass guitar?

Should I put like a plastic bag over the bass bag to prevent it from absorbing humidity?

What do you guys do in these cases?

Thanks.

I'd go with sliding a garbage bag over the gigbag. Humidity won't do much for such a short period, but you never know if the bag will absorb water.
