where to buy white or silver printed headstock waterslide decals?

Anyone know a place to get white or silver printed waterslide decals like the Fender Precision Bass decals you see on the fender black and chrome specials? the ebay guys seem to not be able to do those colors when I ask them

It's a tricky one, as you need either a screenprint setup or an archaic piece of kit called an ALPS printer.

If you're going for a black headstock, try this:

1: Spray the headstock with metallic paint -

2: Make up a reversed-out waterslide transfer in black & float it over the headstock. Juggle it about until it's in the right place -

3: let it dry for 24 hours, trim the excess off & lacquer it until it's sorry -

I found the waterslide film to be very thin, & even using laser toner it lets the gold "grin" through very slightly, giving the headstock a slightly brownish cast. It shows in full daylight (if you're looking for it), but under stage conditions no-one can tell.

Alternatively, try a sign shop that does cut-vinyl. It might be too fine for them, but worth an ask.

Pete.

think i rather pay more and get it done right. no offense but that is nowhere near the look im going for. headstock and body are the same paint so it has the same shades. I know there has to be some place I see too many luthiers on here that use dark headstocks.

They're buying bulk - maybe 500+, but you need bespoke i.e. 1... that'll limit your choices...

How about this guy?

or this one

possibly, but doesn't mention metallics
