where can I get a set length one piece strap?

hey guys. my strap just broke last night (on stage, of all places!), and I'm curious to know where I can get a one piece of material that can function as a strap. I don't ever move my strap, and I hate when it moves around. I sort of took the cue from Sheehan a while back about keeping your bass in the same position standing up when sitting down, and it really helped. now that my strap has broken, I'd like to get just one piece of strong material that's probably 3 or 4 inches wide, and that I can just fasten onto my bass.

anyone know where to do this?

Making one out of a piece of leather is neither expensive nor difficult.

Levy's also makes nice leather straps. Although adjustable, once you set it by design it doesn't move.

There are custom strap makers on the web - Google search, contact one, give them the length and spec out what you want. It won't be cheap, but it should yield a strap that lasts practically forever.

I'll have to look into that. for the time, a friend who works at a music store had a leather strap that a customer just gave to him. he let me have it. so, I'm using that temporarily till I find just what I want. I may send Billy and email and see what he has to say about it. It will probably take a while to hear back from him, but I figured some members on here may know something about it. I'm not so sure how I feel about leather, though. it seems like it'd be a good idea, but I've heard of leather straps stretching a lot, and stuff, after a lot of use.
