Where do you guys find boxes to ship amps/cabs?

So, I've got two combo amps and I really don't need both. I've been meaning to put one up for sale, but have been put off by some of the "boxing fees" places like the UPS store charge. I'm not a serious gear hound, so I don't have many big boxes laying around. I've seen some for sale at Wal Mart, but I don't think they'd be big enough. What say you?

Look under "Packaging" in the yellow pages. XpedX and Unisource are very large nation wide companies that should be able to hook you up with any and all of your shipping needs. Not sure if they have a minimum, but most of the guys in the industry I talk to are very cool. Seems like a lot of their repair technicians are bass players too.

I never looked for boxes for amps and cabients, but I've bought guitar boxes from Uline - http://www.uline.com. Maybe they have something?

GC, my man GC

and other music stores, furniture and appliance store, cut em down, tape em up and away you go. Dollar stores for tape. Always double box amps, if tubbed, pull tubes, fasten cords etc.

Best of Luck,

I dumpster dive for mine. Go to your local mall or strip-mall, drive behind the place where all the loading docks and dumpsters are. Dive in. You might find some other nice stuff in there too! Just watch out for people who work at the store. I've been yelled at for being in the dumpsters. One guy at a Daddy's Junky music caught me red handed pulling cardboard out of his trash. He said I could have the boxes for $5 a piece. I said no thanks.
