We rent from a guy that has a big building with 15 to 20 bands renting individual rooms on a monthly basis. We have been there for 2 years now and pay $450 per month. Nice set up with the building and each room alarmed. We can practice whenever we want.

We have a 40' x 120' separate garage at my parents property, they live on 10 acres so we can make all kinds of noise without any complaints.

We practice in my basement so it's free. But it's better than free for me because I don't have to haul my stuff around when it's -35 on the Canadian prairies in the middle of winter.

No rehearsals for my band. We all live too far away from each other and besides, we play so many gigs that we couldn't get much tighter from additional practice. We only rehearsed once before we went to Vegas and once before a North Carolina show. Otherwise we just road-dog it.

I hear you hahaha, im lucky its not as bad here as out in the prairies.

But yes, im one of the fortunate ones that get to practice in the comfort of my parents home. We jam in the basement for free, one or two times a week.

The best jams though, are when my parents make tacos for supper.

I have my own house, so no one cooks for me...but no one complains about the music either

We have been renting an otherwise unused basement room in a commercial building for many years. The location is as central as can be, and the rent works out pretty cheap since there are about six other bands/tenants besides us. We have a booking calendar on the web that all concerned can check for free days, and the system has worked fine. There's a little P.A. system and some other equipment that everybody can use. Car access is OK, via a ramp directly from the street. Acoustically the room could be better, but, um, you can't always have everything.

It's the nicest facility in which I've ever worked. Everyone has their own practice room, too - between the full band practice spaces and the individual practice rooms. I finally have a really decent soundproofed space to have all my gear, including my computer, set up. I should take pics...

We jam at our drummers house in a converted 7'x15' atrium. Its so tight in there, the guitarist stands in an adjacent bedroom. But hey its free.

I live in a fairly large city, so we have access to several "rent by the hour" type places. A 4 hour rehersal goes for about 50 bucks, tops. Not bad if your in a 5 piece band. That includes top quality pa, amps, drums, mics etc, all in really nice sound proof rooms with vending machines and clean bathrooms down the hall.

We had a garage like that. To save space we got smaller amps which we stacked and also hung some PA cabs from the upper corners of the garage.

We put some sound board around the drummer to reduce his volume. It all worked out okay.

both of my bands rent a rehearsal studio monthy, so day or night we can go on impulse.

both happen to be in the same building, about 10-15 minutes away from my house.

I don't buy into the rental studio thing. As far as I'm concerned, all of those people are rip offs.
