Where to get speaker jacks

Sign in to disble this ad
Ive had a scout about and cant seem to find any decently rated speaker cabinet jacks.

Ive found a few switchs, and am quite looking forward to this 2 minute modification

(i have a peavey classic 30 combo, and a 4x12 cab, as the classic 30 is a valve amp, it is set to run at 16 ohms, it can also work at 8 ohms via connecting the cab to the extension out socket, when that socket is activated it changes to the 8ohm tap on the OT) The internal speaker is 16ohms, and so is the cab, yes, i could use the cab just out the extension socket, but, that way the internal speaker is still being used, and i dont want it to be used, it doesnt sound as nice as the speakers in the cab!

So, simply, im putting a switch between the internal speaker and the amp, when switched one way it will activate the internal speaker, when switched the other way it will bypass to a jack socket that im going to add (yet cant find!), so that i can plug into that and use the cab without the internal speaker of the combo in play!

On another note, does anyone know if i could use a jack with an internal switch for this? It would be simpler and avoid **** ups!

Cheers guys!

Cheers, but ive looked there already, and everything is aimed at low current applications like from the guitar, and i dont know how well they'd handle a higher current
