Where to go in Austin?

Hello all!! I just moved to Austin, and I'm trying to find out where the funk is. I'm an old school funk guy...are there any clubs or even open jams where I can get my funk fix?!? Thanks.

The best of the music scene is pretty much no longer on 6th street. It has spread out to the surrounding streets like Red River and some of the other streets around 6th. I dig the Elephant Room on Congress. It's a basement jazz club that often has funky jazz groups playing there and they do have a once a week open jam but I've never been so I don't know if it's more jazzy or more funky.
