Just toss it on the floor. Some people over think on crap that doesn't matter.

my drummer usually just tosses it on the floor, but we played with a band the other night where the drummer would write the set lists on his snare head. he had like 3 or 4 different orders of the same songs, plus a few crossed out/moved/etc. it was definitely unique.

I've got one for each of us and I'm going to tape them to the stage for me and the guitarist. I just wasn't sure where drummers normally put them since their floor space is covered with drum stands and such and there are no music stands. He's not going to know so I'm going to have to make a suggestions. I'll just have to scope it out when I get there but I thought maybe there was a "standard" place that most drummers put it.

Usually on the floor beside the floor tom OR on a drum monitor if they have one.

+1

Why do you care where the drummer puts it?

I usually put mine on the floor or I'll sometimes impale it on the cowbell holder on my bass drum so it hangs off it.

Actually a magnetic refrigerator clip would be a good idea..hmm...
