where in the world do u get to try these?
So, where can I try a tube amp, any tube amp? No stores in a 2hr radius carry them. Where can I try a bass with wenge neck or fingerboard? Padouk? Apparently these are all crazy and no store should carry them? Anything but markbass and alder/maple basses? That's all most stores have, nothing fancy like I apparently wanted....any ideas or do u guys just spend 1400$ for a (insert bass or amp) and not hear it first hoping it sounds good?

How bout checking CL for used gear for sale in your area? Go play it. Buy it if you like it.

Yep. I live in the middle of nowhere. I have spent thousands of dollars on buying, selling, shipping and trying all kinds of gear - mostly basses as amps are more difficult to ship.
Fortunately, there are a couple stores here that happen to between them carry good enough bass amps. Even more fortunate, most of my gigs are PA/IEM these days so I don't need an amp.
I still need basses though...:hyper::help::):ninja::hiding::bassist:

Drive to Redwood City, and visit Gelb music. I live in Wa state, and I've bought three basses from those guys. Check the website.

I was there, they didn't have any of that mentioned above, honestly the sales guy was cool but couldnt tell me a single thing about what the wood was in any of the basses they had. I was dissapointed....they were like "we're a huge Mtd dealer!" Ok but they didn't have one.....not a single one
Their website is funny, most of the basses are out of stock
