Funk is the purest forms of music.

meaning, it does what music is ment to do. Move you.

Funk is the peak of Music.

Weather you listen to Metal only, or even progressive rock, deep down inside your heart loves that funk

What exactly is funk? Is it the stuff between your toes? Is it a golfer (Fred Funk)? A wrestler (Terry Funk)? A bad feeling (I'm in a funk)?

I'm going to say, no. And so as to offer my alternative, I'll say this:
It all goes back to the blues, man.

I find a good Metal band far more moving then a funk band.

In my mind I see two musical destinations: Groove and Drive.

Funk is a train that takes you to Groove and Metal is a bus that takes you to Drive.

At this point I'm on the train, though not the Funk train. I'm using the push/pull and off-beat syncopations of funk without the disco influence.

No.

I don't even listen to pop music; it's bad enough that I write and play it.

If "moving you" is the requirement then no. Rock, metal, punk, industrial, etc, all move me more than funk.

What moves me is having a toilet around when needed.

Seriously, for me, blues/funk/r&b have always done it for me.
As I get older, metal is sneaking up on me, though.

IMO, whatever music moves you is whatever music moves you.

Not as much as I love Balinese Gamelan music

Not only are those players on a higher level of Cosmic Consciousness than even George Clinton, their stage costumes make Bootsy look like he's wearing a potato sack

I like electronica/polka with a bit of a Yiddish twist and a splash of Mozart.

That and a steady source of fiber.

Atmospheric conditions aside, I do not love the funk deep in my heart. I also do not, deep in my heart, love Jimmy Buffet or sitcoms featuring fat husbands and inexplicably attractive wives.

to OP: um... no. There are many many things I am much more moved by than Funk, Metal or traditional Country.

Funk and punk...pure and uncongested.
