On topic...I've played two outdoor gigs. One was in the dead of winter, and playing fingerstyle was difficult to say the least. The other was playing on a float in a parade. Definitely a lot of fun, although I got a sun burn. |

We were a metal band and played rather loudly. However, 99% of community enjoyed hearing us play. Only one family in the neighborhood complained about the noise level. The community basically made that family an outcast until they moved. HA!

Long story short,VM body,VM pickguard, SD SB-2 pickups,all black hardware,wilkinson tuners,mighty mite neck,cts pots,switchcraft jack.
Usually down here..its hot as heck all the time, but i guess since fall is getting closer, it's starting to cool off. It's about 80 degrees out so in the sun, with a slight breeze.

The acoustic situation is different there as you don't have sound bouncing off walls like inside a club or dance hall. You need good monitors outside to hear yourself and especially the band. Having a sound person is invaluable as perceptions of loudness and balance are quite different on stage compared to being out in the crowd. Bright sunlight can make it hard to see some amp controls, tuners, etc. When performing in cold weather, I have a pair of cottton gloves with the fingertips cut off to help keep the hands warmed. Etc. etc. In general, outside is great! |

Nice bass BTW! |

Nice bass BTW! | Hence my comment about when the weather is right..for some how God has been gracious and given us nice decent weather past couple of days. Even in december it's been too hot to be outside before...
