To admit to enjoying dragonforce?
I am.
My name is Mike Money, and I approve of Dragon Force. |

Beyond that I stop caring, but for those two or three minutes I acknowledge them as the finest orc-slaying hair metal purveyors of their generation, and I make with the banging of the head and the throwing of the devil horns and the rocking out. Oy! Now if they could just write hooks like Dio... |

I can listen to every Rush album one after another, no problem, or listen to RHCP for hours at a time... I can't really take very much Dragonforce in one sitting without a) hating the guitarists for being able to shred way too fast and b) eventually it all just blurs and sounds like something out of Diddy Kong Racing... and I guess thye're described as playing 'video game' music.. but if I want that, I'll play a video game. |

I saw them live as a festival and they completely messed up a lot of the solos. It amused me; me and my friend standing there shaking our heads |

But the songs tend to sound very similar, so I only listen to a few at a time. |

My son played me one of their songs off his Ipod. Damn, that's fast!!! What I liked best about it was the singer was actually good. Not a constant scream or cookie monster guy. I'd like to hear more - maybe just a little at a time!

Their songs sound so similar that when I was studying in the next room I'd wonder how long one of their songs actually was because it just seem to drag on. It turned out that their "30 minute song" was actually about 4 songs. Man, when four songs can go by without a person noticing the change...
I can understand how people could get tired of them.

| | | | I love DragonForce. Seeing them live with Protest the Hero was one of the greatest concerts I've ever attended. I agree that their music gets very repetitive, and I tend to pull out their cds once a month or so and listen to them for a few days and then be tired of the style, but I've been doing that without fail since Sonic Firestorm was released, so I can't see myself getting permanently sick of them any time soon. . . |

There in lies the humor. Most people can't take power metal seriously.
Rhapsody > Dragonforce
Rhaspody is Dragonforce with better hooks, full orchestration, choirs, same goofy ass lyrics, better singer/guitarist, all around better songwriting.
I'll stick with folk metal, thank you.
