I was discussing Christmas songs with a buddy and we were
trying to find out who played guitar on a few songs. Help!

Who played guitar on "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree"?
I'm referring to the popular Johnny Marks tune recorded by
Brenda Lee.

Also, if you know that, maybe you know this.
Who played guitar on "Jingle Bell Rock"?
-- the popular Joe Beal & Jim Boothe tune released by Bobby Helms.

I believe it was Hank Garland? he played on all of Brenda Lee's Decca,sessions.And he did work with Helms.
An early member of the Nashville Ateam.
The style of picking on both of those tunes absolutely sounds like Hank.

And a few years before he passed there was a Dustup down in Orange Park.

Thanks for the link. It appears it was Hank Garland who played on both tunes. Here is a bio that agrees.

We were thinking it might have been Mickey Baker but now we know the correct answer.
