Question Who should front STP?

Other than Weiland, who would be an acceptable front man for STP? My vote would go to Robert Plant.

Some quotes from Weiland on the break up.

I have to agree with this^^^. Robert Plant would be interesting though. However, I read on Ultimateguitar that hes hinted in an interview about a possible Zeppelin reunion in 2014......LOL. Watching the interview, it seemed like Robert was half teasing half daring the other guys to do something..I'm not getting my hopes up though. Is there talk about Weiland leaving the band? Don't get me wrong, I love STP, but I'm not all over them like I am with Rush and other artists.

Personally, I don't think they can really continue on as STP without Weiland.

Sorry guys but Plant has lost quite a bit of range in the last couple of decades. There's no way he could do ANY justice to most of the old STP stuff. He doesn't have the growl in his voice it would take to pull it off. Plant has always had more of a smooth high voice, while Weiland is/was more of a throaty growling voice. I don't think Weiland would do well on most Zep stuff either. Their voices are just way to different to pull off each other's signature sounds.

Yeah Man, I agree. If the remaining Pilots were determined to carry on without Weiland I could only hope it would be Robert Plant or someone of his caliber.

Maybe they will do something with Richard Patrick again.

Either Layne Staley, Curt Cobain, the lead singer of Blind Melon, the lead singer of Sublime or the bass player from Slipknot. Oh wait.....

Don't worry, Weiland will eventually be back, as usual.

"They're the same issues that have been going on since the end of the last tour,"

So... drugs, probably.

I think tradition calls for Richard Petty.

I couldn't agree more. I'm sorry, but if a band can't work it out with the original members, by all means keep playing, but call yourselves something else. Tremonti did it with Alter Bridge.

As a fan, I can't stand seeing a band I love with a bunch of replacements. At some point, it really becomes a tribute band. For God's sake look at Foreigner. The only original member is the guitar player, and they've done shows without even him.
