Why do I get a lot of comments on my Beastie Boys shirt?

Sign in to disble this ad
So this month alone I must've gotten 25 comments on the shirt or people saying they saw them live. Some times I talk with them a little bit, if they know a bit on them, but most of the time I just smile.

Other shirt comments counts (approx):

Iron Maiden=0 (I get alot of strange looks when I wear it)
Pink Floyd=3 or 4
Bob Marley=1 (dad's girlfriend)
Black Keys=0
Beatles=2

Why is this?

Your age group? And they were a Love'em or Hate'em band

I have a Melvins shirt with my avatar on the front, and a two headed cat that says pussy that gets comments from everyone I know, and some people that I have never met. My Spreading the Disease anthrax shirt gets more comments from older people. But my corrosion of conformity shirt gets a lot from people who exclaim what an awesome band they were.

The one of mine that always gets comments is the beat-up old Venom shirt. Usually from folks younger than me, strangely enough.

I couldn't STAND them back then...afterwards, they got a lot more interesting. I think they make some great stuff now.

Cougars! LOL I'm like 15 years younger than most of the people who comment on my shirts.

The Beastie Boys are one of the most demographic-less bands in music history. Just about everybody I know has a soft spot for NYC's clown princes. This might require a poll...new thread impending.

Which Iron Maiden shirt do you have?

I have a Mastodon shirt that seems to get the most conversation.

The T-shirt I've got that gets the most comments is my King Of The Hill one.
