Why is everything in life such hassle?

Sign in to disble this ad
So its been about a month now since i started trying to get custom ear plugs made, to keep my hearing in tact and i still haven't even got the impressions made yet...

So i made my first appointment with the Audiologist first week of May, I get there and the guys only just started working for the company and has no experience or knowledge of the hearing protection that they're a dealer for, as he's some veteran hearing aid specialist.

So i get home and book an appointment for a different store, for the next available date about a week later, time goes appointment comes round, and the guy tells me he cant make the impressions that day as there is a ear wax build up that needs to be syringed out, not much of it, but its in all the wrong places, that he can't make the impressions and i need to go to the GP.

So i go to the GP and the GP says theres not enough there to warrant Syringing but if it has to be done, it has to be done, so i'm booked in to see the nurse that deals with it.

Well my appointment with the nurse is now tomorrow, (and after reading up on it i'm now worried about them damaging my hearing, whilst syringing them) and i'm questioning how much hassle life is.

After tomorrow i'll then have to go back to the audiologist which will be about another week away, then another 10 days for them to be made assuming they can make the impressions, then i have to find time to go collect them

This may seem to be petty but nothing seems to go smoothly any more. I went to the shops today, on my first day off in 10 days to buy a external hard drive to back up my music work and general music collection, and 3 trips to the store and 2 broken hard drives later, its finally transferring now.

I also had to go to the to the Fedex depo to collect some pedals i ordered 3 weeks ago on next day delivery, and 3 weeks later i have to go COLLECT them!

ERghhh rant over. for now.

"Life is hard, and then you die." Grab your bass, turn up your Ampeg and start playing; it'll make everything better.

In equation form, I think it is the following: "Hassle = Stuff To Do X Population Squared."

There are more hassles today in part because the population is so much bigger--longer lines, more regulations and restrictions, and more waiting for everything. In 1973, the USA crossed the 200 million barrier. Today we likely have 320 million people--is it any wonder we have big hassles. I suspect the UK has similar issues. Indeed, the global population has gone from about 4.5 billion in the early 70s to about 7.5 billion today. Wow. Energy usage, pollution, famine--it all gets worse with these huge population increases.

Even as to floods and natural disasters , more people in disaster areas means more problems for them and for relief efforts to help them.

If certain of our highly over-populated nations would slow down a bit, it couldn't help but be a good thing. Of course, as some of our prior posters have done, you can always go down the slippery slope and realize your hassles do not amount to much compared to someone who is battling cancer or starving in the Sudan, but I certainly understand where you are coming from....

Wait until you have to deal with an insurance company over a contested settlement, or Social Security and Medicare. This is only a warm-up.

Already been threw the insurance company fun after having my car written off for me, leaving me with drawn out injury claims with back problems and breathing problems.

And i do apologise if people feel offended by this thread, but i just need to whinge a bit to feel better, i realise there is always people worse off, when it comes to flood and earth quake victims and those living in 3rd world countries and so on

but when your working unsociable hours for minimum wage, theres a string of terminal illnesses in the family, and trips to court to be a witness for murder charges, the little things in life really start getting to you when everyone around you is having a great time.

I think it's one of the most frustrating things when something you thought was going to take 1 trip takes 5.
