Wife is going in to labor - which bass should I play?

Early labor... I *think* we have a few hours before it gets "urgent"... so I have some time to ponder which bass I should play.

Augh! We're having a BABY!

I think the Deluxe Jazz is appropriate.

Words of advice:

Its all about her!
Comfort her but dont talk too much...you'll get cussed out (or yelled at lol)
Make sure the carseat is already in the car
Breathe!
Dont pass out. They wash that stuff off LOLOL.
It goes back down

No, it won't. You'll be surprised how fast it goes, and you'll miss it too.

I know a lady who was in labor for 48 hours on her first- and only. My wife: 3 hours, 1 1/2, 45 minutes. Next one(had I not had the plumbing disconnected)would've required the drive-through method.
Welcome to the club. Take LOTS of pictures.
And I vote P for preggers.

Congrats...

As you're probably discovering, chances are you've got enough time to play plenty of basses. The whole childbirth urgency/panic thing is WAY overplayed on TV. From first contractions to birth, my daughter took over 50 hours to get out - started on Wednesday and didn't get out till Saturday (and then got stuck at the last second)!!! I could have BUILT a bass. Needless to say my wife did not enjoy the experience. I found it tough going and I didn't have to do anything.

My son was a little quicker, but there was still plenty of waiting around.

Totally worth it though.

Congrats again

and you know the rules - no photo, no baby.

First off Congratulations... Secondly play as much as you can now, because after the baby comes you will find you won't have any time to play at all, and thirdly........... pick a steinberger or an acoustic bass... it'll hurt less when your wife breaks it over your head when she finds out you were playing while she was in labor.

I'm obviously late but I'd advise you to go for the Alembic or the Modulus!

Ashtray-
Congrats! True Story....
I use to work in surgery. They rushed a lady in once as a C-section, but the baby started coming when they got her on the OR table. So they were encouraging her to push, and she somehow got a hold of my hand. Dang near broke it. I couldn't get her to let go. I was hollering as loud as she was.
So..... don't let a woman having contractions near your bass. Or your hands.
