Will GC have a St Patrick's day sale?

Hi all. I'm currently on holiday in the USA from New Zealand. I've read all of these amazing stories about GC sales... I've just discovered we'll be in Las Vegas on St Patrick's day. Do GC usually do a St Patrick's day sale? All green instruments half price???

Steve

Since they're made of wood, they're all green! More than likely they will.

The two big sales are usually Columbus day and Presidents' day.

Both are big sales days, but Memorial Day is actually GC's biggest sales day. I've been through a couple as an employee and they suck!

I don't think so but you can always try to talk them down -- I got a 5-string Bongo for $800 brand new with the case last year (no tax in Oregon) on just a regular ol' Tuesday. I just stated what I would pay, and made the move to walk out. I later sold it for more than I paid for it. You never know . . .

From what I've heard, I'd avoid buying anything from Ed Roman while in Vegas. His customer service is famously atrocious, and if you discover a problem when you're back in New Zealand, I'd imagine you'd be out of luck. Disclaimer: I have no personal experience with him, but I have communicated with some people who have, and I'm of the "better safe than sorry" philosophy, particularly when dealing with someone on the other side of the world.

Last weekend was GC's Green Tag sale. Now that you mention it, they probably should have waited until St. Patrick's Day.

For some reason St. Patrick's Day is celebrated with more drinking than shopping around here.

Everyday is a sale at GC. Seriously, they rarely have anything that isn't available all of the non-holidays.

Cool, thanks guys. I know about the green tag sale - I believe that's going all month. And I will try to talk them down... As for dealing with Ed Roman, I have heard the stories, and thanks for the heads up. However, if that is the only way I can definitely get my hands on what I want (12 string bass, probably Dean rhapsody) then I will take the risk. They just don't exist in NZ, and he has one...
