Kinda hard to say because you can't see the transmitters. The EW372G2 is the model# of the transmitter belt packs used in the Evolution G2 3000 series system. The receiver looks like a Sennheiser with front-mounted antennae (not standard, it's a rack addition) from a distance.

In any case, Sennheiser Wireless is one of the best you can get. We service them, so I know how well-engineered they are. Incidentally, the parts are from Germany, and they are assembled here in the USA.

No. The Evolution G2 (or "Generation 2") is a revision of the original Evolution series. Within the series, you have 1000 (low-end), 3000 (mid-line) and 5000-series (high-end). Now, they are ALL great, but of course, you get tighter tolerances and more bells and whistles as you go up in price point. However, there is no routine playing situation that the 1000-series cannot handle. If you are working in high RF areas (major urban cities, near airports, etc.), you might want to step up to the 3000-series. It's still very affordable.

+10000 to Sennheiser.

We use 172's here. One has served me for over a year on a weekly basis(in the RF-filled Houston area, using C band) and now my 17 year old has one for use in his High School Marching Band(he marches with a white Steinberger). I DID call Sennheiser to confirm with their techfolks that it would cover a football field. Sure does!

IF you get one, make SURE you contact their tech folks and look at this chart
http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite...qfinder-ew.asp
for the frequency band you'll want(there was A, B, & C for the 172) depending on where you perform.
Some of the "dealers" are not too sharp on this but Sennheiser codes the Band into the numbering on the boxes.

You may want to look at the chart and consider this one(NOT mine):
Sennheiser Wireless EW172-G2

Just curious if the X2 wireless system can handle the low B on a 5er. Anybody got any insight here?

Yes, probably better than most others. The X2's frequency range goes all the way down to 10 hz, the lowest we've seen. Low B is 31 hz.
