Wireless recomendations.

Ok, so after literally hours (maybe even days! )of searching through the talkbass threads, google and manufacturers websites, I've come to the last resort of posting a new thread here.

I've gotta say I'm really frustrated; time after time I finally think I've found the "perfect" wireless, only to find that it's VHF (instead of UHF) or only has a freq. response down to 50 hz, or it was discontinued 6 years ago and you can't get them any more.

So after countless dead ends, I've come to you guys for help.

What I need is a wireless system (preferably rackmountable) that goes down to 20hz (or 30 at a pinch - I play 5 string) and that isn't going to break the bank!

It needs to be UHF too.

I'm at my wits end!

Any recommendations would be fantastic.

Thanks guys!

JBJ

Another vote for x2, works great for my 5-strings. Mine is the original pedal version but the rack version should work even better.

Can't use it legally in Europe as the frequencies X2 uses are in use by something else. Somewhere in here is a thread by a German company making a digital wireless for the EU market. X2 might be looking to make a unit that's legal in the EU, but you'd have to contact them for specifics.

Ah, well that's a bummer. any other ideas of a decent wireless?

I was looking at an AKG that went down to 35hz...I suppose that would do?

You're going to have to play around a bit. It will really depend on how tight / lenient the manufacturer specs are. Sennheiser, perhaps...the high end Samson could work (Geddy's used it for years, including on his drop-tuned basses). The high-end AKG is nice stuff, by the way.

Not sure if Lectrosonics has one in a frequency band that would work for you, but I know they have digitals outside the 900 realm. Their -3dB point is 35Hz.
