Wireless setup

I'm looking to purchase a nice wireless setup. I've only got about 175 to spend on it, and was wondering what one can get the job done. I saw http://www.instrumentpro.com/P-NADE2...3d89a9a038a7df in an old issue of Bass Player magazine, they gave it a positive review, but I was wondering if anyone here had some experience with it, or any others. Thanks!

I saw one of those on Ebay earlier, i was a little bit wary about it as i havent seen any reviews or anything on it, and its cheap price.

You're going to need $300 to $350 to get into a desireable low-end rig. Shure PGX is your best bet in that price range. I'd avoid Nady for sure, and I wouldn't buy Samson (but others might). AKG is good, but the GuitarBug models eat batteries faster than one per gig. In the under $200 category, you're essentially going to end up with junk that will piss you off so much you'll wish you waited.

Be SURE to get UHF, full (dual) diversity, whatever you get. VHF is awful, and single UHF receivers drop out too much.

Also, very important: You will get the best price from Northern Sound and Light. Call or e-mail and ask them for their prices.

I am not affiliated with NSL in any way other than as a satisfied customer.

I agree with what Munji said. I have tried a couple different of the cheaper units (Nady, Samson, and a Carvin) over the years, and I don't recommend any of them.

I had a nady, and I never had a problem with it. It actually was very clear and had a TON of range. One thing that would also help is a larger recieving antenna. I use a Samson System 22 wireless, and it also works very well. One thing you may want to consider is the radio traffic in the areas you will be playing. I don't have a whole lot where I live, and I never had a problem with either of them.

if you are making money from gigs, investing in a more expensive wireless may be a viable option, but don't totally discount some of the less expensive ones. Also, placing the base away from your amp helps with reducing noise.

Ive just got a AKG Guitarbug for £99 inc reciever and have just done 2 gigs with it one one battery. thats over 5 hours playing time.
Only problem i have found so far (apart from build quality) is that there is a noticable boost in the highs. i can hear more fret clank using my normal EQ settings. i can EQ it out though.
Very happy so far and if i find i use it all the time i will upgrade it to something better but for the price i paid, and this was from a shop not online i cant complain.

A few months ago, I took this same exact advice from this same exact user and I could not possibly be more pleased with my PGX... Great for the price. If you can't afford to buy in this range now, wait until you can. It will be worht it...
