Wireless System with the best tone reproduction?

Hey guys, not sure if this is even the optimum forum for a wireless question, but here goes. I have a sennheiser wireless system. It was about 300-350$ new. I have been pleased with it up until last night. I had a gig where I was really pushing the volume on my amp. I tried going through the wireless and then back to a cable. There it was- the dreaded tone sucking that wireless systems are known for. I played with the cable all night. Could have been a battery starting to get low, but I don't think so.
Bottom line- is there a wireless system out there that won't hurt your freq range and dynamics? If so does it cost an arm and a leg? Any of your experiences/opinions are welcome!

Also has anyone found a device that you can put between the receiver and your amp that will put some of that gain and freq range back in your signal??

I probably read it last year when I donated 60 bucks to TB. Should have brushed up i guess.
