Umphrey’s and The Flecktones: “Don't Change Horses”
Tonight Umphrey’s McGee concludes its run on the Acoustic Planet tour, during which it has shared the stage with its tour mates. Last evening at the Innsbrook Pavilion in Glen Allen, Virginia, UM guitarist Jake Cinninger sat in with Marc Broussard for two songs during his opening set. After this, Umphrey’s invited Bela Fleck to the stage for “Memories of Home,” welcomed Jeff Coffin for “Intensions Clear” and brought out Keller Williams during “Partyin' Peeps.” The group’s set ended with a version of “Push the Pig” with Victor Wooten adding bass off-stage which then segued into Bela Fleck & The Flecktones' set. The Flecktones in turn invited up the members of Umphrey’s for a few songs as well as the night’s encore, “Don't Change Horses," which also featured Marc Broussard. The previous evening in Atlanta, the encore featured The Flecktones, Umphrey's and Adrian Belew for “Come Together” (Belew also sat in with UM earlier in the night on “Red”).
The Umph is doing Red? That must have been extra nice...
