Working out a serial number for a Warmoth bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi there.

I was wondering if any owners of a Warmoth bass do about insurance.

My insurance company wants a serial number for any item worth over £750 but the bass as a whole, of course, has no serial number.

It seems a bit silly insuring each seperate part of the bass, not to mention it would not include the cost of building it and shipping to the uk etc in the event of mine being lost or stolen.

Anyone in a similar situation? Or is it a question for the insurance company?

Thanks in advance for any help!

i would use the number off the body of the guitar. or maybe an invoice number.

perhaps talk with an insurance rep with the receipts from the body, neck, electronics, etc. and maybe you can come to a conclusion.

im curious to see how this works, i was considering doing the same to my warmoth build.

I mark my necks and bodies with an ID number in an inconspicuous manner, in out of the way places. These are photographed before, during, and after assembly. The number is one I made up, and marks anything that bears this number as mine.

Some of my factory basses and other gear are marked in the same manner.

I give prints and digital copies to my insurance agent.

Well, it's definitely a question for the insurance company. Any suggestions you get here won't matter if it's not what they're looking for. I don't think "that's what talkbass said to do!" would work! Even if someone else has done something for their insurance company that worked, it doesn't mean that's what yours will want.

I have my Warmoth receipt, and pics taken by Warmoth staff while my Gecko build was ongoing. I also have the receipts for my Bartolinis, ABM bridge, Gotoh tuners, pots, cap, OBP-3, Tele jack, StrapLoks. And my labor costs too.
