Nice and dull. You probably think the bassline on the Emergency Broadcast System test is the best, eh?
The "Ice Ice Baby" line was (essentially) John Deacon's bassline from Queen/David Bowie's "Under Pressure." |

That song sucks so bad, no guitar wanking or bassline could save it. In fact, I think bar bands wanking guitarists are what makes that song suck so hard! |

it seems that some consider note-infested basslines 'good'..? tbh, songs i like seem to be far from that. especially the bass parts. a few well-placed riffs can do it all.
all a matter of personal taste of course |

And yet, you list Flea as an influence in your profile... are these songs annoying because you can't play them.

My friend played "Fall to Pieces" on CD (by Velvet Revolver) last night. I intentionally listened to the song for the bassline. It was simple - but very effective. I loved it. But, there are songs that I like where they are more complex - I like them too.

You're certainly entitled to dislike them all you want, but you've picked out some of the more identifiable bass lines in the pop/rock mainstream. Surely there must be a good reason for you not liking them...
