I saw them in Honolulu in April 2012 in a 2,000 seat concert hall. They were very good. The new singer is just fine. I purposely got seats in front of Squire to check him out. Very impressive. Didn't much care for the Fly From Here stuff but Yours Is No Disgrace, Heart of the Sunrise, And You And I, Starship Trooper, Roundabout, etc. were great. Go!

Saw them three years ago with Oliver Wakeman on keys and Benoit David on vocals and, for me, he sounded better than Jon Anderson. I have heard whoever took David's place. Asia was on the same tour and Geoff Downes is, in my opinon, a better choice than Wakeman's son. I saw the 1972 tour when Alan White had just joined, but never saw them with Bruford. Saw them again in 1979 when they played in the round.
As a bassist, I was of course interested in Chris Squire, but the tone of his Rose Morris Rick three years ago was awful -- all clank and low end, no punch. He also played a Lakland P bass and a black, possibly fretless, Rick that sound much better.

Let's put it this way:

I've seen lovers flying through the air, hand in hand,
I've seen babies dancing in the midnight sun,
I've seen dreams that came from the heavenly skies above,
I've seen old men crying at their own gravesite,
and I've seen pigs out sitting, watching picture slides,
But I've never seen nothing like Yes.

Saw them a couple years ago and it was a good show. Howe was awesome, he hadn't lost anything. Squire I was disappointed in because the mix had too little bass; I could hardly hear him even though I was on the floor only about 50ft from his rig. He spent a lot of time stomping on pedals but I never heard any differences in his tone.

If they don't play well, just kill time at the casino...

It's worth the price of the ticket just to watch Chris and Steve play.

Go. I saw them at the Gorge at George during the Talk tour. Chris brought the crowd to their feet many times. Just go.

Heck, just hearing them perform "A Venture", the second song from Side Two of The Yes Album would make it worthwhile! Have they ever performed that tune in the past ~40 years?!?!

Anderson said they tried, and it never quite came off well live.(a venture) its a short little song, but i've always loved it,as a lead-in to Perpetual Change. Mccartneyman,1972 was the first time i saw them, too,in Memphis. The last show i went to was 2008 with benoit and oliver,it was a great show. There are plenty of examples of the latest lineup on youtube, admittedly cellphone recordings, but they give a pretty good picture of how the band is sounding now.(which is mostly really great) the only thing that bugs me is the slowed version of SK,it just seems tired. I would rather see JA in the lead, but the band sounds really good with either of the replacement singers, and Geoff keeps getting better covering the Wakeman stuff.

Correction - Three Albums in their entirety - I've seen them many times with the mixed-up line ups they usually have and the shows have always been worth it. Good bud and you're there. However, I've never paid what they're asking for in SD ($75+) so I'm passing on this tour. Three of the original five isn't bad though. I'm sure Chris Alan and Steve will put on a good show - never heard of the other replacements.

This was the tour I saw as well, and I would say it was well worth it. I'm a long-time Yes fan but had never gotten to see them live. I suppose that the live show veterans might shake their heads and say it doesn't count without Jon Anderson, but if you've never seen them at all, go take a show in before they're too old to go on any more. Benoit David did a great job with the vocals and I haven't heard that the new guy, Jon Davison, is doing any worse. No, it won't be the same as catching them in 1973, but what would?

Saw them at a free July 4th concert in 2011. It was a very good concert, despite the heat that day. The new line up may not be quite as good but I was only there to see Squire and Steve Howe. There was a Wakeman there but it wasn't Rick. (His son I think?) I'd go see Yes every night if I could. Love 'em!

Thanks again, everyone! There have been some interesting perspectives here. I've never had a chance to see them yet, but having seen Geddy Lee play with Rush, it seems like there would be something to gain from seeing Chris Squire, as well. That being said, Rush is supposedly going to announce a few more tour dates in the U.S. in April. I missed the other legs of the CA tour, so if I have to choose, it's going to be Rush.
